Malawi, Makana and Kendi
The triplets were taken in on May 27. All weighed about 7 oz at intake. They gained 5oz in the first week. Saving Sage Animal Rescue agreed to take them in.
Makana GIRL (means Brave One)
Dark Tabby. Good eater. Had wound on tail, but I put aquaphor on it and it seems to be healed.
Malawi BOY (means place)
White and Brown tabby with white tip of tail.
Kendi BOY (means the loved one)
White and Brown tabby with white spots on butt. Very sweet, likes to sit in my lap while I feed the others.
Kittens must be separated because of genital sucking. They ALL do it! Malawi is most affected and had large red extended area. Meds and separation help.
They came to me with a horrible flea problem, and I have bathed them twice in Dawn. Was combing them every feeding for a week.
I feed them, then allow communal playtime, usually about 1/2 hour. They like their bellies rubbed.
But they must be watched like hawks, since they WILL suckle on each other's privates.
I feed about 20-30mls every 5 hours.
I have a forever cat, Rocky, and due to the problems I was having with the kittens, I had to release them back to Saving Sage. Rocky was experiencing severe reactions and since I owe my first loyaty to him, I had to let the kittens go.
